This course is designed to present an overview of human cultures and the many remarkable ways in which humans adapt to their environment. The course includes sections on languages, archeology, ancient history and modern cultures, with an emphasis on living traditional cultures.
The required textbook for this class is Conformity and Conflict (14th edition), by James Spradley and David McCurdy. (Pearson Publishing; ISBN-10: 0205234100). This book is available at the campus bookstore.
On the first day of the class, please log in to the ETUDES course web page. Your beginning instructions for the class can be found under the announcement titled "Getting Started." Please also read all the other announcements that are posted when you first log in.
In order to enroll in this class, it is essential that you have reliable internet access and know how to use email. No late assignments will be accepted due to internet access problems.
