This is an introduction to the areas of study in the life sciences and is designed for non-science majors. Topics include: Elementary biological concepts, a general survey of living organisms, cells, genetics, ecology, and evolution. UC transfer credit will not be awarded for BIO 1000 if this course is taken after a student completes BIO 2100 and BIO 2200. Lab. (AA, CSU, UC) Advisory: MATH 0830, ENGL 0950, and READ 0990.
