This course covers modern methods of gathering, summarizing, and analyzing data. Topics include descriptive statistics (binomial, normal, student-t, chi-square, and F distributions), measures of central tendency and dispersion, sampling, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, regression and correlation analysis (for both single and multivariable), ANOVA applications, and nonparametric inference. Statistical use of calculations and computers are introduced. (AA, CSU, UC) Prerequisite: MATH 0980 or qualification through assessment.
