This course introduces students to the criminal justice system in the United States and the roles of the police, courts and corrections in shaping justice policy. Focus is placed on crime measurement, explanations of crime, responses to crime, and current challenges. The course also examines the evolution of the justice system and the forces that shape justice policy in a cross-cultural context.
