Sign Up Today for our New Alert Communication System - COS Everbridge Portal: COS has a new alerting system called Everbridge. This is a free emergency notification system COS uses when notifying students and staff of emergency situations or campus closures. In order to receive alerts or other updates from COS you need to create an account by clicking on the ‘sign up’ link on the bottom of our COS Everbridge Portal. Within your Everbridge account you can specify which alerts, if any, to subscribe to in the Alert Subscription section. The accounts from the previous alerting system will be deleted at the end of November.

“Bridging the Holidays for the Victims of the Boles Fire” - Presenting on 12/11, at the COS Ford Theater at 7:00 pm (Doors open at 6:30 pm): Tom Stienstra’s Electrifying Wildlife Encounters & Boles Fire Acts of Heroism.   Admission will be free and the performance will be exciting for the whole family.  The event will be a fundraiser with Jimmy Limo performing before and after Tom Stienstra’s performance.  Donations/Pledges will be accepted.  There will be commemorative ‘T’ shirt, Bookmark and Raffle sales in the lobby.  The winners of the Raffle will be announced at the end of the performance.  All of the proceeds will go to the rebuilding of the Weed library and other community projects.  This event is sponsored by the Weed and Mount Shasta Rotary Clubs, The College of the Siskiyous Foundation and the Siskiyou Media Council.   It is also supported by the ‘Weed Friends of the Library’ and Great Northern Corporation’s ‘Long Term Recovery' program.

2015 Spring Registration Now Open: Registration for the 2015 COS Spring Semester is now open.  Plan now to meeting with an advisor or counselor to get the classes you want and need.  All students are encouraged to register before the Holidays.

Solace in Sotari Now Open for Viewing at Weed Campus: A new solo student art exhibition by Angelea Heartsong, entitled Solace in Satori, is now open for viewing in the COS Student Art Gallery located in the Learning Resources Center.  The exhibit will be on display through December 19.

Music Department Schedules End of the Semester Concerts: Get ready for some great music!! The COS Music Department has scheduled concerts to be held in December - COS Concert Band (December 5 at 7PM), COS Orchestra (December 7 at 3PM and December 8 at 7PM), COS Vocal Jazz Ensemble / Concert Choir / Chamber Choir / Vocal Jazz Ensemble Winter Concert (December 13 at 7PM and December 14 at 3PM). 

COS Board of Trustees Monthly Meeting: The next COS Board of Trustees meeting will be held December 9 at the COS Weed Campus in the Board Room. Closed session at 5PM and open public session at 6PM.

Fall Semester Finals Week: Finals week is Monday, December 15 through Thursday, December 18.

Vocational Nursing Program Graduation is December 18: Mark it on your calendar... the COS Vocational Nursing Program will hold a graduation / pinning ceremony on Thursday, December 18 at 5PM in the COS Theater.  Family and friends of the graduates are invited to attend.

Winter Closure / Semester Break: The COS Campuses will be closed for the Winter Break, December 24 through January 1. Both campuses will reopen January 2, 2015. The 2015 spring semester will begin Monday, January 12.

Applications Available for SSS Program: The SSS Program application is available in hardcopy form from the Weed Campus SSS Office as well as online.  The Program offers a dedicated staff who are available to help with counseling, advising, progress follow-up, financial aid application assistance and numerous other services.

Free Success Seminars at COS - Every student heads into college with the intention of achieving his or her goals. To help you gain the skills necessary to achieve your goals, the Academic Success Center has developed a series of 50 minute seminars which will help you build skills and confidence in a variety of areas.  Success Seminars are offered during the fall and spring semesters.

Census Reports Now Available Online: Students can check their progress by logging into their Navigator account.  Select
your Student Tab and then the semester you want to view under your Student Grades channel to view academic progress.

Important Reminder for Students: To avoid being dropped from your classes, we encourage you to pay fees in full when enrolling or make payment arrangements by creating a contract with the COS Business Office.  Financial Aid can be considered when creating a contract to pay IF all required documents have been submitted to the Financial Aid Office. Stop by (or call 938-5310) the COS Business Office with any questions.

NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute (WMI) Offering Expanded Course Offerings at COS in Spring and Summer 2015: The College will offer classes during the Spring/Summer of 2015 through the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). See the NOLS WMI WEMT course schedule for more information.
