You are Not Alone! Remote Tutoring is Just a Few Clicks Away!

Due to COVID-19, and for the health and safety of our students and staff, in-person tutoring is not available. However, remote tutoring is available.

We currently offer four types of tutoring support:

• Drop-in Zoom sessions with ASC tutors
• Tutors embedded in a variety of Canvas courses
• Paper feedback via email
• NetTutor services, accessible in Canvas courses

We recognize that, for many students, academic support is essential to success. We also know that, in times of heightened stress and anxiety, maintaining supportive relationships is crucial to helping students navigate challenges and stay on track. That is why we have created a robust schedule of remote, real-time tutoring that offers support Monday - Friday, throughout the day and night.

Should you have questions, feel free to visit with our Tutoring Coordinator, Emkay Sikora, in her "Front Desk Zoom Room" Monday - Thursday, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Paper Feedback

To drop off a paper for tutor feedback, please email tutoring@siskiyous.edu, and adhere to the following:

1. The subject line should read: "Paper Review"
2. Your paper should be attached as a .doc, .docx, or .rtf file or as a shared Google doc.
3. The email should contain the assignment instructions.
4. The email should contain you primary concerns about the paper: name one-two concerns/questions you have about your paper. This information will help us focus our feedback.

There is a 48-hour turnover time for paper feedback, so please plan ahead.

Become a Paid Tutor

We need motivated and responsible tutors who meet these minimum qualifications:

• Current enrollment in 6+ units
• Grade of "A" or "B" and instructor's endorsement in courses you will tutor
• Enrollment and completion of Tutor Training (1-unit) course

Current pay is $14.00/hour. Download an application to be a tutor.
