This site has been built using code that is compliant with the W3C standards for HTML and CSS, which allows for current and future technologies, including assistive technologies, to properly interact with and display web content. The College of the Siskiyous website conforms to WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards and meets or exceeds Section 508 standards of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Our goal is to make the college website accessible to everyone, including differently-abled individuals. To meet this objective, the content adheres to the following best practices:
Web platforms and services are constantly evolving, as is the support for assistive computer technologies. We welcome your feedback for improving the usability and accessibility of our website, applications, and services.
All areas of the College website will be reviewed at least annually; new content is reviewed prior to publication. Compliance issues, such as spelling, color contrast, missing headings, images without alternative text, and other compliance violations will be addressed as they arise.
Administrative Procedure 5140 is committed to providing web services that are accessible and usable by all regardless of technology or access method. We actively work to increase the accessibility and usability of our websites by striving towards the seven principles of universal design, including: equitable use, flexibility, simple yet intuitive, perceptible information, tolerance for errors, low physical effort for task completion, and appropriate design for approach in use.
The District maintains a plan for the provision of programs and services to disabled students designed to assure that they have equality of access to District classes and programs, which includes technology accessibility.
Whenever the District enters into a contract for the purchase, development, procurement, maintenance or use of any electronic or information technology, the vendor shall certify that it complies with the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and its related regulations.
