Spring Student Survey

The Academic Success Center coordinates EdTALKS, a series of brief workshops designed to provide students with the tools, skills, and strategies to gain learning confidence and get the most out of their college experience. The Spring Survey asked students for their feedback so that the ASC can continue to develop EdTALKs that are engaging, important, and relevant to student's lives.

The Spring Student Survey received 188 responses. Of those 188 respondents, 66 had attended an EdTALK and were asked to complete all EdTALK questions.

The COS Library is here to support students primarily through research help and educational opportunities; databases, books, textbooks, and other collections; computer and printer access; and study space. Your feedback lets us know how well we are meeting these goals and what we can do to improve.

We know: textbooks can be expensive. Student feedback about textbook costs will provide valuable input as instructors and the college look for ways to balance the use of quality instructional materials in the classroom with student preferences and budgets.

The Prizes

Only one prize per person.

Grand Prize

The grand prize will be a new iPad (10.2-inch, color: Space Grey).

Runner-Up Prizes

There will be two runner-up prizes: Each runner-up will receive a $50 gift certificate for gas, Grocery Outlet, or Amazon. The winner can choose which gift certificate they want.

How to Enter

All COS students currently enrolled on the day of the drawing (May 23) are eligible to participate in the survey and enter in the drawing. Permanent COS employees are not eligible (even if they are taking classes). The entry period is May 9 - 18, 2022.

The Student Survey has three sections: one for feedback on EdTALKS, one for library services, and one for textbook costs. At the end of each section you will have the option to enter in the drawing.

To enter, you supply your COS email address when prompted (e.g. username@siskiyous.edu)

• You will be entered into the drawing each time you finish a section and provide your email address; this means you can enter to win up to three times
• If you want to be entered three times, you will need to provide your email address three times (once at the end of each section)
• You may only submit the survey once; you cannot complete each section of the survey at different times
• The survey is estimated to take 5-10 minutes
• If you don't know your COS email address, please contact the Student Help Desk or the Library.

Entering/providing your email address is optional! You can still share your feedback without entering the drawing.

Anonymity

We encourage you to be honest when answering the survey. Your email address will not be used to match your name with your feedback. It is being used:

• To select and identify the prize winners
• As one contact method to contact the winners
• To thank you for participating
• To prevent fraud

The Drawing

The prize drawing will take place on Monday, May 23, 2022. Winners will be contacted via their COS email address; we may also contact you using the phone number and/or mailing address you have supplied to the college. A notice will be posted here once all winners have been contacted.
