Weed / COS – Enroll today for fall semester Interpersonal Communications (COMS 1300 / CRN 7193) at College of the Siskiyous. Taught by long-time COS Faculty member, Jayne Turk, this course is an introduction to the process of human communication including intra and interpersonal communication. Special emphasis is placed on an understanding of communication in relationships and everyday life in conjunction with knowledge of how to communicate ideas, thoughts, and feelings.

Interpersonal Communications includes principles of verbal and nonverbal transactions that occur in relationships and the study of theory and research findings and their application to communication in interpersonal relationships in personal and professional contexts. The class is AA degree applicable, and CSU and UC transferrable. Jayne Turk is the instructor.

During the fall semester the class will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 to 9:10 pm via Zoom. Students enrolling in this class will need effective computer skills with reliable internet access. Cameras will be required, and students are allowed to zoom using their phones. Students may attend the first week of classes in person at the Weed campus, in the Distance Learning Center (DLC) 3, and are encouraged to do so if in the local area.
