Student Email Support

When you register for or are waitlisted for a class at COS, you will automatically be provided with a Microsoft Office 365 account for your student email. Your Microsoft Office 365 account offers many other applications and features as well. Please wait 24 hours after registering for this account to be created before trying to access it. Your COS student email account is used for all official communications from the College, so please be sure to check it regularly or have it forwarded to an account you check often. Your COS student email address will be your mySiskiyous username, followed by @siskiyous.edu - username@siskiyous.edu

COS uses Microsoft Office 365 for student email and other web-based Office programs. You can access your Office 365 account by logging into mySiskiyous and clicking the red Mail button in the upper right corner.

If you are accessing your account for the first time, see the instructions on the mySiskiyous support page.

If you cannot find your email address, contact the Student Help Desk with your name, contact information, and either your student ID number or your date of birth and the last four digits of your social security number.

If you do not know your password, click Forgot my password. Enter your COS email under User ID, enter the jumbled characters, then click Next. Choose one of your verification methods, then change your password after following the prompts. If you do not have authentication methods set up, you'll need to contact the Student Help Desk with your name, contact information, and either your student ID number or your date of birth and the last four digits of your social security number.

Settings (Gear) Location

If you wish to have your student email forwarded to another address, log in to your student email account in Office 365. Click on the Settings (gear) icon in the upper right corner to open the Settings menu.

Click on the Mail link under the heading of "My app settings" to open the mail options page.


Mail - Accounts - Forwarding location

Click on "Forwarding" in the mail options menu. Click on "Start forwarding" and enter the email address you wish to have your student account forwarded to. Click "Save" at the top of the page to begin forwarding your email.

To stop forwarding your student email, simply go back to the same page and click on "Stop Forwarding" and "Save."

Please remember that your siskiyous.edu account provided by College of the Siskiyous is the account to which we will be sending all student correspondence. It is your responsibility to maintain both accounts should there be any changes in the future.


No, your Office 365 account gives you access to all applications through your web browser. If you would like to install the software on your personal computer or mobile device, your account does allow you to download and install Office 365 on up to five computers or mobile devices. To take advantage of this offer, click on the "Install Software" link provided in the Office 365 menu page that opens when you sign in.
