Adding and dropping can be completed at the Admissions and Records Offices at either the Weed or Yreka Campus or using our online mySiskiyous registration system. Add / drop forms are available on our Forms page or at either COS Campus. Adding and dropping may be completed using one of the following processes:
Regular Semester Classes (16 week classes): Students are encouraged to register for classes prior to the beginning of the semester. If a student registers for a class after the first day of class, the following time periods and processes apply.
Time Period | Process |
---|---|
Week One | A student may add a class with instructor approval (unless the class is closed). |
Week Two / Three | A student may add a class at the discretion of the instructor. (The instructor must sign the add form or give an add code.) |
Week Four | A student may add a class after completing a late add permit which verifies attendance prior to week four and is signed by the instructor and the Dean of the department. |
Note: The above timeline does not apply to summer session, winter intersession, short-term, and late-starting classes. Please check with Admissions and Records for appropriate dates.
Regular Semester Classes (16 week classes): For dropping classes before receiving a "W" or a "Letter Grade," the following time periods apply.
Time Period | Process |
---|---|
Week Three | Last week to drop a class without posting a "W" on record. See Academic Calendar for more information regarding dates. |
Week Twelve | Last week to drop a class without a grade. See Academic Calendar for more information regarding dates. |
Note: The above timeline does not apply to summer session, winter intersession, short-term, and late-starting classes. Please check with Admissions and Records for appropriate dates.
Some students (EOPS/SSS and/or athletes) must have a counselor signature before dropping.
