College of the Siskiyous supports California Community College online students by participating in the pilot Proctoring Network developed and coordinated by the Online Education Initiative (OEI). The Proctoring Network supports participating colleges online faculty and students by offering proctoring services at one of the 19 participating California Community College campuses within a reasonable distance to an online student. Students at participating colleges can take advantage of proctoring services equipped with reliable computer access and staffed by qualified college personnel, maintaining test security and respecting student privacy. Best of all – the service is FREE—of both distraction and cost!
If your online class requires face-to-face proctored exams and you do not live near campus, a proctored exam may be an option for you. Speak with your instructor to learn more about proctored exams at College of the Siskiyous.
The Proctoring Network is scheduled to launch in early 2018.
Instructors who allow proctored testing for exams are asked to complete the Faculty Exam Request form. Please use this fillable PDF document to provide the COS Testing Center your specific exam instructions. Once complete, please email to firstname.lastname@example.org. If this will be a paper exam, please attach this document as well.
Recommendation: Instructors who allow students to take exams from home may wish to set up a practice exam in advance for students to test their home technology.
